Akron is a city located in Summit County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 217,074. It is currently the largest city in Summit County, Ohio. It is the county seat of Summit County ⁶.

The National Inventors Hall of Fame has a museum in Akron.

Akron is the location of the annual All-American Soap Box Derby.
