Angora was the name of the city of Ankara in Turkey prior to 1930.

This city lent its name to several breeds of animals:

Angora also refers to the hair of either the Angora goat or the Angora rabbit, or the fabric made from Angora rabbit; see Angora wool. (Fabric made from angora goat is mohair.)

Angora is also the name of several communities in the United States:

Angora should not be confused with Agora.
