Christopher M. Hutton is a British scholar of linguistics.
Prof. Hutton is a professor at Hong Kong University, School of Enlgish. He is the author of several books.
Chris Hutton's specialty is political issues that affect language and linguistics. His focus is on the links between linguistic theory and race theory especially in Nazi Germany. Living in Hong Kong, he researches the sociology of the language situation in his college town and in Southeast Asia. He looks at topics relating to colonialism, language identity and the politics of linguistic description.
