Contagious behavior or allelomimetic behavior is behavior which is contagious, easily transmitted from one person to another, such as yawning and laughter and possibly crying. Contagious behavior may to some degree be considered socially contagious. Social animals such as ants, geese, [[wolf|wolves], and dogs as well as herd animals such as elk and cattle frequently exhibit contagious behavior, all howling or running if one of the pack or herd starts.
