Criticism of January 1, 2000

The date of January 1, 2000 has been mistakenly confused, until, during and some time after its celebration, as the "first day of the new millenium". That day, however, was January 1, 2001.
It was also associated with the probable Y2K problem, which turned out to be just a storm in a water glass.
