Criticism of esoterical coincidences
From Wikinfo
Some take a more skeptical view of coincidence. The statistical probability of coincidences occurring (as opposed to them not occurring) leads to the conclusion that we should be far more surprised if we never found ourselves linking together by personal meaning events not otherwise linked. Additionally, it must be pointed out that these links are only conceptualized after the fact, rather than predicted, leading to the further conclusion that confirmation bias, rather than some mysterious force, is at work. It would be useful to consider the preponderance of instances in which events cannot be said to coincide meaningfully.
