Decay mode

In physics, the decay mode of a radioactive isotope describes the way it disappears (turns into something else).

Decay modes include

• Emission of an alpha particle or a beta particle
• Capture of an electron or neutrino
• Spontaneous fission
• Emission of bremsstrahlung, X-Rays or conversion electrons
• Emission of protons, neutrons, or light elements (for example, ¹⁴C)
• Beta-delayed emission of particles
