Dynamic silence

Dynamic silence is a media two-prong technique for denying publicity to, and/or elevating an unseemily side of an unfavorable group, individual, idea or book. It is surreptitious censorship and propaganda. It is done by the collusion across the whole media enterprise of journalists, editors, publishers with power groups and individuals; hence a conspiracy. Dynamic silence seeks to starve into oblivion these groups, individuals, ideas, books and/or seeks to create hostile public opinion by direct manipulation. A synonym of dynamic silence is obscurantism.

"Dynamic Silence was invented by Rabbi Fineberg of the American Jewish Committee in 1947 as a method of closing off all access to the public media—and thus the larger culture—for people or organizations deemed to have an unacceptable point of view." ¹ The twofold strategy is a combination of techniques (which there are minor adaptations and alterations). One part consists in denying unmoderated exposure to the public. The second part involves only reporting on negative or unseemly sides of a thing in order to de-legitimize these things. Where the first one concentrates on silence or very tight restriction, the second part is done in a spiral form; its effect is cumulative. All the press reports on a subject will be negative. As the negative is expressed continuosly, the public is conditioned to recoil from them.

This strategy was first developed and aimed at anti-semitics. With Jews "in the leadership of all three major television networks and many movie studios, for the ownership of the nation's largest chain of newspapers, and for considerable percentages of university faculties" ⁵, this strategy is highly practicable and effecient.

"Debates within the Jewish community of Detroit pointed to the contradictions within this policy. While some called for self-policing and making the community beyond reproach, others believed Jews should be held to no different standards than those to which all other Americans were held. Learning from their experiences with Coughlin, Jewish leaders modified their strategy of exposure when confronting Smith. The American Jewish Committee, long an advocate of behind-the-scenes efforts to combat anti-Semites, proposed the strategy of dynamic silence, wherein Jews would deny Smith the publicity he needed to gain support. This would be done by making no public comments regarding Smith and by reducing militant protest tactics, as had occurred at Smith’s public appearances. It would also be accomplished by pressuring major newspapers to omit mention of Smith in their papers. This strategy of dynamic silence was eventually accepted by both the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Congress, as well as by Jewish leaders in Detroit. Their efforts to combat anti-Semitism had been moving in that direction for years as public refutations of Coughlin and Smith had not necessarily weakened their bases of support."

"The attacks of the “Brown Scare” against Smith during the WWII, and the subsequent dynamic silence, did successfully remove the spotlight from Gerald L. K. Smith. A 1947 memorandum of the Jewish Community Council noted: “In the absence of publicity and of picketing, Gerald L.K. Smith’s Detroit meeting on August 12th, attended by 225 persons, passed unnoticed.” Indeed, by the late 1940s Smith had virtually disappeared from the American political scene, although he continued trying to spread his message even into the 1960s. Without the spotlight of publicity, his once-large following shrank to negligible numbers."⁴

Steve Sailor notices that Alexander Solzhenitsyn, one of the most premier modern writers, is given the silent treatment. Solzhenitsyn wrote a massive two-volume history of the interactions between Russians and Jews; titled Two Hundred Years Together, 1795-1995 and "Yet these two books by the world's most famous living author just can't seem to get published in an English translation here in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I wonder why? And why has almost nobody publicly discussed why these books haven't been published in English?". ²

John Young, editor of Western Voices World News writes:

"An example of Dynamic Silence is the regular appearance of Daniel Carver on the Howard Stern show. With no disrespect intended for Mr. Carver, he continually throws out all manner of racial epithets against non-Europeans that are so disgusting I won't even repeat them. As a result, anyone hearing Mr. Carver on Howard Stern's show comes to associate pro-European-American attitudes with the worst aspects of our people, and avoids even the appearance of advocating such attitudes like the plague. By contrast, you will never see a measured and rational pro-European advocate such as Kevin Lamb or Kevin MacDonald on mass media; and if you ever do you can bet it will be in a moderated context that dilutes their positive impression." ⁵

A South Korean author Meon Nara drew a comic book about 9/11 which portrays America as controlled by the Jews, especially the media. The comic book goes on to say that Korean Americans are stymied in their efforts due to Jewish control. Rabbi Abrahm Cooper of the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, travelled to Korea and met with the publisher of the comic book and had the book pulled from the shelves.⁷

Ariel Toaff, an Italian Jewish professor, did research on the blood libel of the Mediveal age with the conclusion that there is some basis of fact to the charge titled Pasque di Sangue [Passovers of Blood]. He concluded that the facts of the case couldn't have been made up by Christians who were ignorant of Jewish culture and ways. The book was in stages of being printed when it was shut down.⁸

Professor Israel Yuval of Hebrew University in Jerusalem wrote Two Nations in Thy Womb, or Perceptions of Jews and Christians where he discusses how blood libel in Christian Europe developed. Ashkenazi Jews in order to prevent the forcible baptism of their children would kill them. Professor Yuval writes that the picture of Jews slaughtering children for cultic reasons exerted huge impact on the Christian peoples of Europe. Israel Shamir, a journalist, writes that "the English translation of this book was supposed to appear a few years ago in California University Press, but for variety of reasons this has not happened yet. It is certainly sheer coincidence that some American Jewish scholars objected to this book being published and called to ‘erase it from public conscience’." ⁹

In 2001, the article 'The Origin of Palestinians and their Genetic Relatedness with other Mediterranean Populations' whose lead author was Spanish geneticist Professor Antonio Arnaiz-Villena, of Complutense University in Madrid caused a furor of widespread condemnation. The article stated that there was no genetic difference between Palestinans and Jews. Due to the outcry worldwide of Jewish communities, the article was pulled from the Journal of Immunology website and journal subscribers who had already received it in the mail were asked to rip the article out of the journal and dispose of it. The American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, which produces the Journal of Immunology, then wrote letters to libraries and universities throughout the world asking that the article from the journal be removed. Furthermore, Arnaiz-Villena was terminated from the journal's editorial board. ¹⁰
