Flintshire (Welsh Sir y Fflint) is a county in northern Wales. Places in Flintshire include

It borders, in England, Merseyside (across the Dee) and Cheshire, and in Wales, Wrexham and Denbighshire.

The current Flintshire came into existence in 1996. It was also a traditional county of Wales before 1974. The historic county did not have the boundaries as modern Flintshire, in particular it had a large exclave called Maelor Saesneg, it also included Prestatyn and Rhyl which are now administered by Denbighshire.
