Fruit Ministries (FM) is a small internet based group originally consisting of only two people - the Lewis brothers. Then, Richard Lewis an e-book writer and Claire Samson a poetist met together through a group’s page and it was proposed that they start an organisation that would research different faiths. Their first e-book was a ‘Comprehensive Guide to Religious Beliefs’, but most of the material of that was salvaged to include on their first website ‘Fruits of the Spirit’. That website was closed down and revamped with “Bible Groups Pickings”.

Bible Group Pickings (2009)
Bible Group Pickings is a high quality, respectable, research and review organisation which also specializes in publishing essays and poems from Christians all over the world. It’s primary purpose, as stated by the Lewis brothers, was to help spread the word of faith(s) around the world, and make it easy to access information about them. Its secondary purpose is for Christians to use as a platform to ‘unleash’ their creativity in drawings, photographs, poems and other literature which they produce. The Lewis brothers both hold interest in different faiths within Christianity. Holding a genuine interest in different beliefs, they were hoping this project would help him answer some much needed questions about different faiths and the people who adhere to them.
Group Pickings creation
Religioustolerance.org allowed the team to keep a link to their page as a sponsor on their site nonetheless. The difference between religioustolerance.org and BGP is the following:
- BGP => emphasises quality, clarity and free material above all else.
- BGP => only advertises through social networks and journals electronically.
- BGP => allows anyone over the age of 18 to submit a essay on their faith corresponding to Christianity to their site.
Lewis expects over 200 articles on the site by the end of 2009. If this target is met, additional sites will be opened on the same basis.
Bible Fruit Pickings
The original name of BGP was Bible Fruit Pickings . Samson argued that Bible Fruit Pickings (BFP) would correspond with the old slogan ‘Inspecting the Fruit’ and would harmonize with Matthew 7:20 [1]

The Aim
The main purpose of ‘Group Pickings’ is to become a reference resource for all people enquiring about any faith in every religion and secondary purpose, to bring all Bible groups together and encourage them to open up and become open minded about different faiths. It is a highly large project that would require an estimated 200 articles for BGP alone. Once BGP has reached that estimated figure, it is hoped that FM will branch off to Quran Group Pickings (QGP) predominantly for Muslims and Torah Group Pickings (TGP) predominately for Jews etc. BGP gains a unique flavour from its free-enterprise stance – even advertising a faith (whether individually or commercially made) is allowed. Advertising a faith then becomes a part of original research and gives BGP an originality and taste of what each faith is about.
At the moment, Lewis is involved in talks with several organisations who would like to particpate in this project. They are also looking for another co-partner in the U.S.A to help maintain the site. The site is voluntary based, but the team hoped to publish a book on different Christian faiths.
