Wikinfo:Help Editing
From Wikinfo
Editing Wikinfo is done with the same program that views the page. All of the web browsers (fingers crossed) will equally edit a page. The appearance of the page is the same, or very nearly the same, with all browers.

Tabs along the top of an article's page
The several tabs at the top of Wikinfo pages give access to editing and other specialized functions.
The Article Tab
Sometimes it is helpful to have the original article present in one tab of your browser (or one window) while editing in another.
The Edit Tab
Click the Edit tab to edit a page. Activating Edit brings up an editing window that includes some options just beneath the editing window. The article's text, if any is present, will appear. Most articles have some markup characters in them. Those are interpreted by the brower to present the normally read page. Don't let this deter you, by and large editing is a "what you see is what you get" situation. Commonly used markup is at Wikinfo:Cheatsheet. More advanced markup is at Wikinfo:How to edit a page. But whether you use bolding and other markup or not, at the bottom of the editing page is the Preview button. Type in a brief description of what you have done and press the Preview button to look at how the saved page will appear. Is it what you want? If not, make additional changes and press Preview again, as many times as you like. There is no timeout involved (or a very long one) and you can take as long as you like to produce just what you want.
When you are satisfied, press the Save button once. Rarely you will get an error when saving that tells you someone else has edited the page and saved it while you were in the process of editing the page. If that happens:
One solution is to press your browser's BACK button and arrive at where you were. Click Preview (you already know it is good) and then click Save. This procedure usually works.
Another solution is to copy your created text to your computer's clipboard. Then exit the editing screen by clicking the Article tab. Next, click the article's Edit tab again and paste your clipboard's content where you want it. Enter a Sumary, Preview, and Save. It is unusual for several people to be trying to get their edits saved at nearly the same time. But if you have satisfied yourself with your edits, the paste, preview and save procedure works quickly.
The History Tab
Your edit is now the viewed page! In addition, you can see earlier versions of the page when you click the History tab. If you use that option you can compare your edit to earlier versions. The comparisons are called "editing differences" and are sometimes useful when communicating with other editors.
