Indic

The term Indic is used to designate languages of India. Academically or otherwise the term is also used to indicate the linguistic precursors (Mitanni) and offspring of such languages.
Indic languages include, in rough sequence:
- Mitanni (Eastern Anatolia)
- Vedic
- Sanskrit and the various Sanskrit-related languages included under the term Prakrit
- Hindi
