Kit Carson Mountain, named for Kit Carson, is one of the Crestones in the Sangre de Cristo Range above Crestone, Colorado. The west face of the mountain is a prominent landmark visible from Crestone. There are a number of ways to safely climb Kit Carson Mountain and its peaks, but it has claimed many lives.
