Lakebottom Park, then known as Wildwood Park, circa 1910.

Originally known as Wildwood Park, Lakebottom Park on Cherokee Avenue was founded in 1888 in Columbus, Georgia, and occupied much of the areas known as Wynnton on the east, and East Highland on the west. On the site where Lakebottom exists today was a large lake with islands accessable by arched bridges, a popular spot for leisure activities, as it is today. In 1925 the lake was drained, and the lakebottom is the actual site of the current park. The Columbus Americana Music Alliance, created by local musician and songwriter Dan Davidson, is among the groups using Lakebottom Park as a venue for entertainment activities and meetings. The C.A.M.A. meets monthly on second Sundays at the park's Band Shell.
