RSS is an acronym for:

• Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a Hindu group.
• Really Simple Syndication is an XML based web syndication protocol family, that is primarily used by news sites and weblogs.
  • the Rich Site Summary is also known as RSS 0.9x and RSS 2.x
  • the RDF Site Summary is based on RSS 0.9x plus uses the RDF Standard - this is also known as RSS 1.x
