Snake Oil Science
From Wikinfo
Snake Oil Science: The Truth About Complementary and Alternative Medicine is a book by R. Barker Bausell, a statistician and professor in the Department of Organizational Systems & Adult Health at the school of nursing at the University of Maryland with an interest in placebos.[1]. The essence of the book, backed by considerable research in the medical literature, is that complementary and alternative medicine, if it works at all, works by the placebo effect. There is a section, "How to select a placebo therapy that works."
