This page caused controversy on Wikipedia (Jan, 2004), and exposed the hypocrisy of that "community". If the effort put forth to get the M.R.M. Parrott page, and all Wikipedia links to it, deleted were put into basic link checking, fact checking, organization and editing of some of the same Philosophy pages from which it was linked, the Wikipedia site could live up to the standards cited to exact the deletion. As it is, Wikipedia does not live up to its own standards.

Partially in response to this, Philosophy on Wikinfo now covers new philosophers, and is intended to provide information on emerging trends in the history of ideas with philosophical import from creators in all mediums, without either taking anything away from the history, or losing the profundity of philosophical investigation and discussion. The days are over when a few academic elitists can silence new philosophical voices.
