Thanks Nhprman for the SPOV - interesting how not neutral the WP version was ;) -proteus 00:07, 8 Mar 2007 (EST)
- Exactly! As a PR professional myself, I know bias when I see it. Wikipedians rarely reach their own stated standards for neutrality, so sympathetic tone is extremely rare on WP. I'm delighted to see it being practiced here. - Nhprman 11:20, 8 Mar 2007 (EST)
- Yes, I'm a big fan of PR, too, and that WP version was just wrong - many, many times, NPOV means "negative point of view". Thanks again for catching it. If you know of good examples, or a good summary, please add it to the Critical views of Wikipedia page and/or its policy subpage somewhere. -proteus 11:52, 8 Mar 2007 (EST)
- Thanks. I definitely will think of some good examples. There are many, many of them. One big one was the Alexis Carrel article over there. Someone got hold of the article and utterly swamped it with negativity. You'd never know the man was responsible for some enormous medical breakthroughs once the smear campaign was finished.) - Nhprman 14:55, 8 Mar 2007 (EST)
