Three-age system
From Wikinfo
The three-age system is a system of classifying human prehistory into three consecutive time periods, named after the characteristic tool-making technology of the era:
- the stone age
- the bronze age
- the iron age
It was introduced by the Dane [[Christian Jrgensen Thomsen]] in the 1820s in order to classify artifacts in the collection which later became the Danish National Museum for History.
