Transcendental Idealism

Immanuel Kant's core theory in Epistemology, stating subjectivity, or the subject or person, is limited, as well as released, by having to transcend its lack of knowledge about the "real" world. To make its way, the subject must manufacture Ideals, such as "self", "world" and "God", from within it's own powers, and use those ideals to transcend the limits of what is knowable. See Metaphysical Subjectivism for more, or Metaphysical Objectivism for a contrasting position.
