U.S. News & World Report is a weekly news magazine. It was founded in 1933 as the United States News and in 1948 merged with the World Report. The magazine was employee-owned until 1984, when it was purchased by Mortimer Zuckerman, who is also the co-publisher of the New York Daily News.

Since 1983 the magazine has published a well-known and controversial annual list of college and university rankings ("America's Best Colleges and Unviersities") and publishes a listing of "America's Best Hospitals."
