The University of New Brunswick (UNB) is located in New Brunswick, Canada. The university has two campuses, the main campus founded in 1785 in Fredericton and the other opened in Saint John in 1964. UNB is the oldest English language university in Canada. It was the first public university in North America. (The University of Georgia was established the same year.) UNB offers degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Fredericton campus is located within walking distance of Saint Thomas University.

One of the university's principal benefactors was Lord Beaverbrook.
