SuperSearch is a series of templates based on the title of a page which aids the reader in finding information about that subject. Template:SS and Template:SSS were the first SuperSearch templates developed. SS did not produce good searches via Google or Yahoo! due to underscoring, as in "the_good_life"; the underscoring was picked up by the search engine resulting in sharply truncated results. Thus SS was not good for multi-word titles. Its coding was moved to Template SSS which continues to directly search. Template SS just links to advanced search which requires the user copy and past the subject to search for.

Development of additional templates is encouraged, for example a template SSB could search for information about books and have a different mix of resources to be searched.

Some sort of Template SS should be at the top and bottom of each pages. If Template:Wiki is used for an article imported from Wikipedia, Template SS is included in that and need not be added.
