Wikio is a European search engine for news and blogs. It was created in 2006 by Pierre Chappaz, the engineer who created Kelkoo, which was sold, shortly afterwards, to Yahoo!.[1] Its motto is "You are the media".
Since the launch Wikio has opened local websites in French, Italian, Spanish, German and English.
As of December 2007 it is undergoing beta testing.[1]
