Word games can be two different types of game:
Board games, where the goal is to create words:
- Anagrams (not to be confused with the linguistic recreation below)
- Boggle
- Option
- Scrabble
- Swedish puzzles
- Upwords
Paper and pencil games/puzzles:
- Acrostic puzzles
- Crossword puzzles
- Cryptograms
- Hangman
- Jotto (or Giotto)
Structured games, focussing on the semantics of words:
